Our client, who retired and rented a townhome until the end of the year, was eager to complete a whole house remodel. This is part two of a three-part series: Part 1 – Kitchen and Family Room; Part 2 – Primary Bedroom and Bathroom; Part 3 – Other Rooms
The homeowner desired a complete redesign of the outdated primary bathroom and upgrades to the adjoining primary bedroom. The current space felt cramped and didn’t meet the needs for modern amenities or the homeowner’s elevated aesthetic.
The design focused on transforming the space to create a spa-like atmosphere while ensuring optimal use of the available layout. The existing tub was replaced with a shower room, incorporating both a freestanding tub and an open shower for versatility. The vanity was extended into the old shower area, and a sleek makeup desk was integrated. Two sinks were installed, heated floors were added for comfort, and the toilet was upgraded to a modern Toto with a built-in bidet. To elevate the aesthetics, the team suggested custom closets for the wardrobe space in the primary bedroom and bi-fold doors to create seamless transitions.
The build required a complete demolition of the original bathroom to reimagine the space from the ground up. The newly created shower room became the focal point, with premium finishes, glass enclosures, and a freestanding tub that added elegance. The extended vanity with dual sinks and a makeup desk provided practical solutions for everyday use. Installation of heated floors added a touch of luxury, ensuring warmth during colder months. The upgraded Toto toilet with a built-in bidet further enhanced convenience. The finishing touches included new doors and custom-built closet interiors, which maximized storage space and enhanced organization.
In the words of Robert Lenton, “The client wanted to transform her newly purchased home into a comfortable, welcoming space for herself and her visiting family. She envisioned cozy areas for her and her dogs that could also accommodate her kids and grandkids, creating a luxurious yet approachable design. During the build process, she traveled but stayed connected with our team through BuilderTrend, texts, and calls. When she returned, she came home to a beautifully transformed space.”
