Library Addition in Lancaster

Project Overview

Challenge:

As avid readers, our homeowners amassed a collection of over 2,000 books. They wanted to build a library room addition complete with a fireplace that could also serve as extra space outside the kitchen area when entertaining guests. This would be the fourth home remodel project with Lenton Company.

Design:

The existing fireplace would need to be removed and a new clean-burning gas fireplace built. The homeowners had very specific requirements for the storage of all the books and a comfortable space to read. Lighting and the fireplace were also part of the design process.

Build:

Demolition of the fireplace began, and the foundation was set for a 15’ x 20’ addition off the kitchen. An Anderson slider installed in an earlier kitchen remodel was relocated to the addition. Quarter sawn oak wood was selected for shelves and cabinetry, and a new air conditioning unit added.

Reveal:

In the words of our homeowners’, “The quality of work is second to none. The team was easy to work with and always kept the work site clean. Sometimes changes would need to be made and Lenton Company came out right away, made the modifications, and everything turned out perfectly. We highly recommend Robert Lenton and his team.”
