Our homeowner was ready for a kitchen update but did not want the expense or disruption of a full remodel. He loved his existing countertops and wanted to keep them intact. At the same time, an underutilized butler’s pantry presented an opportunity to create a dedicated bar area for entertaining. The goal was to elevate both spaces while being mindful of cost, materials, and what could be reused.
Rather than starting from scratch, we focused on thoughtful upgrades that would deliver maximum impact. The existing kitchen cabinetry had good bones, so we reimagined them with a refined, modern approach. Cabinet doors were removed and redrilled to accommodate euro-style concealed soft-close hinges, giving the kitchen a cleaner look and smoother functionality. Existing drawer fronts were reused, while the drawer boxes were rebuilt with new self-closing drawer glides for improved performance. To complement these updates, all cabinetry was professionally refinished in a darker, richer color and finished with new hardware that added a fresh, contemporary touch. In contrast to the refreshed kitchen, the former butler’s pantry became a brand-new bar space. This area received all-new cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and floating shelves, creating a distinct yet cohesive feature designed for entertaining.
Our team carefully executed each phase with attention to detail and preservation. Existing floor tile posed another challenge: several tiles were cracked, but the homeowner had extras on hand. We carefully replaced the damaged tiles, then had the entire tile floor professionally cleaned, including grout color restoration and sealing, giving the floor a renewed, uniform appearance without full replacement. The result is a kitchen that feels completely updated while honoring the client’s original investment, paired with a striking new bar that adds function and personality to the home. This project is a great example of how strategic design decisions and skilled craftsmanship can deliver a big transformation without a full-scale remodel.
In the words of our homeowner, “My goal was to refresh and modernize the kitchen for everyday living while also making it attractive for future resale. Lenton Company offered thoughtful options and alternatives that made a big difference. The bar renderings were the turning point. They turned a small, overlooked space into a stylish, functional upgrade.”
