Grand Design Living Spaces in Palmdale

Challenge:

Living with two school-age children and two indoor dogs in a custom home built in the 1980s, this Palmdale couple set their sights on an early retirement planning to stay in this home for at least 10 years. The kitchen and living space held top priority including an updated bathroom, and a dedicated arts & crafts area in the laundry room was included in the project. They wanted the spaces to function for their busy family lives, and to create an oasis for entertaining family and friends.

Design:

We started in the kitchen and bar/family room area with a major demo of all cabinets, counters, lighting, flooring, and removed a wall for bar expansion. The bar expansion was designed to seamlessly transition living spaces from kitchen to the family gathering area to amplify the natural flow. Every touch point – including a dated fireplace façade – carried selected design elements throughout. Floating shelves, double oven, induction stovetop, deluxe pantry, and an appliance garage effortlessly tied the natural elements of stone and wood with modern conveniences.

Build:

Shaker door style cabinetry and European Quartz – Cotton countertops with laminated bevel edge were installed throughout the kitchen, bar, and laundry area. Recessed lights and pendant lights were added throughout. In the laundry room we moved the washer and dryer to the other side of room to accommodate an oversized craft table countertop with a new exterior door and passage into the bar area.
