Creating Art in a Primary Bathroom Remodel in Acton

Challenge:

After living in their home 34 years, our homeowners recently decided to stay in place versus moving out-of-state. With a distinct vision in mind and wanting to remodel most of their home eventually, they decided to focus on the primary bathroom as a starting point.

Design:

Working around an existing window in the bathroom, it took some impressive designing to remove a tub and replace it with large shower. Quartz countertops were selected and integrated into the window sill and top of a new stub wall. Focal point of the remodel design is the intricate tile work in the shower. The wavey tile selected and the picture-framed flower pattern in the shower reflects the artistic vision of the homeowner.

Build:

After removing the original tub, a wall next to the toilet was cut down and the new shower area tiled. In addition to the multi-dimensional tile work on the shower walls, the bottom of the shower was crafted in penny tiles, which is challenging but looks stunning when done right. A barn-style shower door was installed. New cabinetry was added, including a medicine cabinet and cabinet above the toilet. New tile floor, framed mirror, sinks, and toilet were installed. A barn door replaced the double swinging doors at the room opening and mirrored closet slider doors were updated with a contemporary finish.
