Bright, Open Kitchen with Better Flow in Valencia

Challenge:

For our homeowners, the kitchen’s biggest issue was a tight walkway space between the refrigerator and island, which created congestion during everyday use. The island itself lacked functionality and seating, limiting its potential as a gathering space for family and guests. The homeowners envisioned a brighter, more open kitchen with improved flow, comfortable island seating, and finishes that would keep the space feeling light and timeless.

Design:

The design solution focused on improving circulation while enhancing the kitchen’s clean, airy aesthetic. A reconfigured island created more comfortable walkway space between the refrigerator and island. The island was also redesigned to include seating for casual dining and conversation, turning it into a welcoming focal point. The kitchen features white shaker-style RTA (ready-to-assemble) cabinetry paired with light quartz countertops. The soft palette reflects natural light and helps the room feel larger and more open. Thoughtful details elevate the kitchen’s functionality. The island serves as the main work zone, featuring the kitchen sink that makes prep and cleanup more efficient, along with a convenient trash rollout tucked neatly into the cabinetry. Glass pendant lighting above the island adds warmth and visual interest while highlighting the gathering space.

Build:

During construction, the Lenton team carefully executed the new layout to maximize both beauty and usability. The updated island now provides improved circulation, additional storage, and comfortable seating for family and guests. The cabinetry installation creates a seamless, built-in look across the entire kitchen, while the subway tile backsplash and stainless appliances provide a classic finishing touch. To complete the transformation, new laminate flooring was installed throughout the entire first floor, tying the kitchen into the surrounding living spaces with a warm, modern wood tone that complements the bright cabinetry.
