Case Study: Spa-Inspired Primary Bathroom Retreat in Palmdale

Challenge:

Our homeowner envisioned a personal retreat—a serene, elegant space for both relaxation and daily routines. Her wish list included a freestanding soaking tub, a spacious walk-in shower with custom niches, a bidet, and a place to keep the dog’s water bowl tucked out of the way. She loved the timeless appeal of gold plumbing fixtures but wanted to balance the space with contrasting tones and a splash of personality. Plumbing constraints added complexity to the layout, requiring clever adjustments without compromising the aesthetic. Above all, the space needed to feel calm, beautiful, and distinctly hers.

Design:

To bring her vision to life, Lenton Company embraced a warm, neutral palette with tactile variety and strategic pops of color. The carved onyx vessel sink introduced organic warmth and visual interest with its unique striations selected from supplier photos to ensure the perfect fit. A subtle burst of blue-green tile inside the shower niches echoes the hues of the sink and adds unexpected vibrancy. Gold fixtures lend a sense of luxury, while mixed black-and-gold cabinet hardware provides grounded contrast. Custom vertical tile on the feature wall behind the tub creates subtle texture and modern elegance. A custom floating vanity was designed to keep the dog’s water bowl neatly out of the way—both functional and visually cohesive with the tilework.

Build:

Midway through construction, plumbing limitations prompted a creative solution that became a standout feature: a ledge behind the soaking tub. Now, the homeowner has the perfect spot for a candle or a glass of wine while unwinding in the tub. The shower became a true showpiece, with a rainfall head, body jets, and built-in niches for organization. A separate water closet ensures privacy, while warm wood tones and soft lighting throughout keep the space feeling cozy and inviting. This project is a testament to thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, and how a few bold details can elevate a tranquil retreat into a personal sanctuary.
